  • At Emerald Mental Health, a coach can fulfill an advisory, supporting, and guiding role, helping you to transfer from point A to point B. Coaching is aimed at guidance in achieving personal and practical goals in the work or private environment. There are various types of coaching, and each form can help you to develop in a different area:

    Life Coaching
Life coaching can help with various aspects of life. A life coach mainly helps to convert negative ways of thinking into positive, helpful ways of thinking. This allows you to proactively and effectively achieve your goals.

    Relationship Coaching
Relationship coaching helps you strengthen your relationships or solve problems in your relationship. The focus is mainly on communication and cooperation, which will help you understand each other better and prevent future problems.

    Burnout Coaching
Burnout coaching supports your recovery and the trajectory when you start working again after your burnout. You and your coach will also discuss and work on interventions to help prevent burnout in the future.

  • A significant difference between coaching and therapy is that therapy focuses on (severe) psychological problems, while coaching focuses on personal development and achieving a particular goal.

In therapy, you will work on resolving a psychological problem, such as addiction, anxiety, or depression, often focusing on the past.

In coaching, the present and the future are essential. You have a specific goal, and with a coach, you look at the possibilities to achieve that goal.

Within the scope of coaching, the coach does not treat coachees with mental illness and does not provide medical advice or engage in client diagnosis.
If a coachee requires more extensive treatment, EMH will refer them to an appropriate licensed professional.

  • Emerald Mental Health offers safe and easily accessible online therapy and coaching. We will be connecting via a HIPAA-approved video calling platform.

We offer flexible appointments, making treatment accessible regardless of your schedule and location.

  • The first step would be to contact us via email or phone to make an appointment for a free 15-minute consultation.

You can determine if the therapy- or coaching style is right for you. Then, if you decide to start, it would be followed by an intake interview from where we plan for the further course of the process.
